Denim, neon, Rubik’s Cubes, and big hair made a comeback for this year’s Junior Secondary Social Event. Retro 90s outfits were popular at the Year 9-11 event. Local DJ ‘CEIGE’ kept the turntables blasting and the whole crowd dancing. Around 100 people were in attendance at PNCC Youth Space for the evening of good clean fun.
Competition and games on the night:
- Judah managed to eat the speed pizza eating competition, despite being “Full as” before beginning.
- Gabi was voted best dressed to the theme with her baggy neon, denim and big hair.
- Mollie won the 90s rapping competition with her Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Year 13 student in charge of the Social Committee Amy Pinkney was delighted with the 90s retro costumes and the dance battles. She was quick to thank “Mrs W, for her incredible organising of the event’. She also wanted to thank her team of decorators, audio-visual people, ticket makers, food-artists, advertisers and the supervising teachers.
After the last of the 32 pizzas were eaten, and the last pair of shoes were abandoned for the dance floor, and as the DJ played the last song , apparently it was then that even Mr Groube joined in with the dancing.
