March 14th, or 3.14 in American parlance was celebrated by math students at Cornerstone today. Students calculated Pi, read stories about Pi, created Pi art, and (importantly) ate Pie. Ryan set the record for most digits of Pi memorised. His 45 digits was more than twice as many as the best teacher. For his efforts, Ryan won a pie.
Head of Maths, Ian Groube was delighted with the way students approached the math celebration. Year 13 math enthusiasts, Anna and Irin, were more than happy to help out with the event. Anna reported with a chuckle that winning a pie for quoting Pi helped students grow their knowledge of, and own circumference.
