Student Leadership

Primary School Leadership

At Cornerstone Christian School, student leadership is an important part of our learning community. Our Primary Student Leaders take on a range of responsibilities that help support the smooth running of daily activities. They manage our Loose Parts shed, supervising play and ensuring equipment is packed away properly.

They also organise sports equipment for break times, lead Primary School assemblies, and meet regularly to suggest ideas for improving different areas of the school. Through these roles, we aim to develop confident, responsible leaders who demonstrate initiative and a commitment to serving others.

Middle School Council

The Middle School Council is made up of students from Year 7 to Year 10 and represent the voice of the middle years at school. This student-led group meets regularly to discuss issues that matter to their peers, provide feedback on school policies and events, and help shape a positive school culture. Members of the Middle school council are responsible for gathering ideas, raising concerns, and suggesting improvements that benefit both students and staff.

In addition to being a forum for student voice, the council also organises activities such as theme days, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns. They work closely with teachers and senior leaders to promote student wellbeing, foster leadership, and encourage a sense of responsibility. Through their involvement, council members develop important skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, while helping to make the school a more inclusive and engaging place for everyone.

Senior School Student Leadership

Our Cornerstone Christian School motto is “Learn, Serve and Grow in God”. Our students are encouraged and supported throughout their school years to grow in service to others. As Jesus emphasised, the focus isn’t on being served, but on serving the needs of others. All our students have opportunities to serve our school community but each year we select a group of Year 13 students for specific leadership roles. These senior students take on a particular area of responsibilities and give back to our school community in an official capacity. Collectively, they meet regularly as the Senior School Student Leaders’ Council which is an important platform for hearing student voice, developing initiatives, and planning school events.
